Homemade Vegan Cheddar Cheese Sauce
- 1/2 C Vegan Margarine or butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 cups Unsweetened plain soymilk*
- (USE ONLY soymilk with just soybeans and water on the label)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 C Nutritional Yeast
- 1 T white or Red Miso (optional but adds great flavor) or add 1 T broth powder
- 1 t onion powder
- 1 t garlic powder
- Cheese Sauce Directions
- Melt margarine
- Stir in flour.
- Add soymilk
- Heat until starts to thicken.
- Add remaining ingredients
- Heat Until thickened
Tips:
- Use wherever cheese is called for... macaroni and cheese, nachos, over cooked vegis....
- Try the miso!
- or try adding cashew butter, in place of some margarine...
