Vegan Gravy

Basic Vegan Gravy

  • Cook gently:
  • ¼ c flour
  • ¼ c margarine
  • Add 1 ½ c soymilk (with ONLY soybeans and water on label) OR use water.
  • 2 T soysauce
  • 1-2 T vegetarian broth powder (I like Frontier Brand Beefy Broth)
  • 1 teaspoon Braggs or browning liquid
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • 1/2 t sage (optional)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Cook and stir until thickened.

  • Gravy is great on mashed pototoes, or stuffing, of course.
  • Stir some mushrooms into gravy.
  • Add vegi sausage or burger and serve as biscuits and gravy for breakfast.
  • Try adding Garlic or other spices.
  • Add more margarine for richer flavor...

Vegan Gravy with tahini

  • mix:1 1/2 T cornstarch
  • 2 T soysauce
  • 2 C water
  • 1 t poultry seasoning (sage, thyme, rosemary, marjoram, pepper)
  • Heat until slightly thickened.
  • Stir in:
  • ¼ C tahini
