Basic Homemade Croutons
- 10 slices stale bread cubed
- mix w/ ½ c oil
- Minced Garlic
- 1/2 t salt
- Sprinkle with Nutritional yeast (opt)
- Bake 225 2 hours.or 350 30 min
- stirring every 15 minutes or so.
- Easy Italian style Croutons
- add garlic to ¼ c Italian dressing:
- sprinkle and toss on:
- 4 c bread cubes
- Bake 425 8 min, until browned, stir 1/2 way through
- or stir fry in skillet 10 min.
- Homemade herbed croutons
- 10 slices day old bread Cut into Cubes
- Heat 2 T vegan margarine
- 2 T olive oil
- 1/2 t salt
- And Herbs of choice: Basil, marjoram, oregano, thyme, sage, rosemary. Pinch of each you want…
- (Sage, thyme, oregano is my favorite)
- Pour over bread and stir.
- Sprinkle with ½ C nutritional yeast tossing gently
- Bake 300 15 minutes stir 15 minutes more. Check for doneness. Bake longer if need be.
