Home Made Biscuits

  • Mix dry ingredients
  • 2 C flour
  • 1 T sugar
  • 1 T Baking Powder
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1 t salt
  • cut in
  • 1/3 C shortening/high fat vegan butter or margarine
  • add
  • 2/3 cups Unsweetened plain soymilk* with 2 t vinegar added
  • knead a couple times just to encorporate
  • Drop 9-12 onto greased sheet.
  • Bake 425 10-13 minutes

Sausage Gravy

Brown 1/2 # favorite vegi sausage patties (Morningstar farms works well) and set aside

  • Melt
  • 6 T vegan butter
  • add
  • 6 T flour
  • stir as it heats, and slightly browns.
  • gradually add
  • 4 C plain unsweetened soy milk (only soybeans and water on label)
  • stir constantly as it thickens
  • Add sausage
  • 1/2 t crushed red pepper (optional)
  • salt and pepper to taste
