Multi grain homemade hot cereal mix
Ingredients
Multi grain mixture
- 6 c oats
- 3 c wheat bran
- 3 c cornmeal
- 3 C ww flour
- 2 c cracked wheat
- 1 C ground flax (optional)
- 1 c grits (optional)
- 1/2 c wheat germ (optional)
- 1/2 C rice flour (optional)
- 1/2 C soy flour (optional)
You can use almost any grain. Try new ones!
- Farro
- Millet
- Teff
- Quinoa
- Rye
- Triticale
- Barley
- Buckwheat
- Rice
You can grind some grains to cook more quickly, or just adjust cooking time longer.
Directions:
For Hot Cereal
- Mix 2 C hot cereal mix into
- 6 C cool water
- Bring to a Boil then lower heat and simmer 20 - 40 minutes, adding more water if drying
- out.
Serve with favorite toppings:
Sugar, brown sugar, maple syrup, jam, sugar cinnamon, raisins, walnuts, granola, sunflower seeds, walnuts, coconut, Peanut butter, chocolate chips, bananas,chopped apples, applesauce, berries....
Tips:
- This is great for a group of people.
- It can be as healthy or decadent as the individual wants!
- I take leftovers and add it to a bread recipe
