Herb crust for Pot pie or Quiche

Herb crust

  • Mix
  • 2 ¼ c flour
  • 2 t onion powder
  • 2 t celery seeds
  • 2 t dried parsley
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 t sage or thyme
  • ¼ t garlic powder
  • Cut in
  • ¾ c vegan shortning like crisco or coconut oil (or high fat vegan butter/margarine)
  • Slowly ADD
  • under 1/2 c very cold water to make dough workable
  • Roll out and put into pie pan
  • fill
  • 450 10 minutes
  • then 350 15 more



Pie Crust Dough with mild herbs:

  • 2 C flour
  • 2 t celery salt
  • 2/3 C + 2 T shortning like Crisco
  • 4-5 T ice cold water
  • Mix gently Roll out flat and proceed as pie crust
