Homemade Mustards

Homemade Brown Mustard with wine

  • Process 3 T brown mustard seeds into powder.
  • Mix in 2 T water and let sit 30 minutes.
  • Add and process:
  • 6 T vinegar (white vinegar or tarragon, or similar)
  • 2 T white wine
  • 1 t fresh ground pepper
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 t agave.
  • Transfer to clean jar and fridge for at least 10 days before using


Homemade Hot and Spicy Mustard

  • Pour 1/4 C Boiling water over
  • 1/4 C whole yellow mustard seeds
  • Cover. Sit 1 hour until all water is absorbed.
  • Process with:
  • 1/4 C agave
  • 2 T ground mustard
  • 1 t salt
  • 1/8 t cloves (optional)
  • Fridge at least 1 day before using.
