Cholesterol Free Refried Beans Recipe

Refried Beans

  • 1 lb red beans soak overnight
  • Boil 2 min add
  • ½ t baking soda.
  • Rinse cover w/ water
  • add:
  • 2 cl. garlic
  • 1 chopped onion
  • Boil 1 hour, or til soft. (depends on beans)
  • Add more water if dry.
  • Mash
  • Add ½ t salt
  • 2 T oil (or more)
  • 1 T Garlic Powder
  • ½ c minced onion, or 2 T onion Powder
  • 2 T bacos (optional)
  • 2 drops Tabasco
  • 1 t Cilantro
  • 1/2 t Cumin
  • (adjust seasonings to taste)
