BASIC ORIENTAL SAUCES
Basic Oriental sauce
- 1 1/2 C water
- 1 T vegetable broth powder
- ¼ c soysauce
- 2 ½ T cornstarch
- or
Basic SWEET oriental sauce
- ¾ c soy sauce
- ¼ c br sugar
- ½ c water
- 3 T cornstarch
Tips:
Saute any vegetables/tofu/mock meat/Ginger/Garlic... Add sauce ingredients. Heat until slightly thickened. Reduce / increase ingredients proportionate to the amount of vegetables you use..
Usually served over white rice
Works well in place of hoisin, fish or oyster sauce
