Italian Salad Dressings
and vinaigrettes Recipes.
Low Fat Italian Salad Dressing
- Mix and cook until slightly thickend
- 1 C water
- 1/3 C vinegar
- 2 t cornstarch
- Blender with:
- 1 t dijan (or yellow) mustard
- 1 t garlic powder
- ¼ t salt
- ¼ t pepper
- 1 t basil
- 1 t oregano
- 2 T bell pepper
- 2 t oil
- Chill well.
Basic Italian dressing:
- MIx well :
- 1 C oil
- ½ C wine vinegar
- 1t sugar
- ½ t each: oregano, garlic, chives, parsley
- 1 t salt
- ¼ t dry mustard
- 1 t onion powder
- dash pepper, and cayenne
Sweeter Italian Dressing
- 1/2 C sugar
- 1 1/4 C vinegar
- 3/4 C water
- 1/2 C ketchup
- 1 C oil
- 1 T onion powder
- 1 T salt
- 1 t dry mustard
- 1 t oregano
- 1 t paprika
- 1 t pepper
- 2 t garlic powder
Easiest dressing/vinaigrette
- 1 part balsamic vinegar
- 2 parts olive oil
- or too taste
Red wine Vinaigrette
- Whisk together:
- ¾ C oil
- ¼ C red wine vinegar
- 2 t dijan
- 1 clove minced garlic
- ½ t salt
- ½ t pepper
- ¼ t thyme
- Options: Add any: ½ t basil, 1 t agave or sugar, 1 t parsley, ½ t dill, ½ t dry mustard,
Balsamic Vinegrette
- 1 C balsamic vinegar
- 1 C canola oil
- 1/2 C olive oil
- 6 T water
- 1 T soy sauce
- 1 1/2 T agave
- 1 T dijan Mustard
- 1 T basil
- 2 t oregano
- 1 1/2 T parsley
- 2 t garlic powder
- 1/2 t salt
- 1/4 t pepper
