Mandarin Orange Salads
Tratitional Mandarin Orange Salads consist of
- Mixed Lettuce
- Chopped Celery
- Chopped sweet onions
- Small can, Mandarin oranges, drained
- Vegan Chicken chunks, or fried tofu.
- Drizzle with dressing
- And sprinkle with candied almonds
- Sugared Almonds
- 2 T sugar
- ¼ C sliced almonds
- Heat fry pan, add sugar and almonds. Stirring constantly until sugar melts and almonds are coated. Remove from pan, cool.
Here are a few dressing recipes to try, for what you have on hand or preferred taste.
Traditional Mandarin salad dresing
- Dressing:
- Heat:
- 1/4 C oil
- 2 T sugar
- 2 T red wine vinegar
- 1 T parsley
- ½ t salt and pepper
- Cool Add:
- ½ t almond extract
Easy Mandarine salad Dressing
- 1 C Orange juice
- 1 T soy sauce
- 1 T agave
Mandarine salad dressing with sesame
- HEAT to disolve sugar:
- ½ C corn syrup
- 3 T vinegar
- 2 T pineapple juice
- 1 T sugar
- 1 T brown sugar
- 1 T rice vinegar
- 1 T soy sauce
- 1 t sesame oil
- ¼ t dry mustard
- ¼ t ginger powder

- Remove add:
- ½ c oil
- Sprinkle with 1 t sesame seeds
- Cool before using
