Beany Burger


1 T oil

1 small onion

2 cloves garlic

1 t basil

salt and pepper

1 Can red beans

1 can white beans

1 c cooked lentils

1 c cooked brown rice

1 T soy sauce

2 T flour

sesame seeds for coating




Saute onions in oil until translucent,

Add garlic saute 1 minute more

Remove from heat.

Mash beans and add to onions,

along with flour.

Shape into patties and press one side in sesame seeds.

Fry plain side first. Flip when lightly browned.

Serve sesame seed side up.

Black Bean Burger


3 C black beans

2 T flax seeds, ground

2 T sesame seeds, ground

1/4 C walnuts, ground

1/2 c finely grated carrot

1 T soy sauce

1 T H2O

1/4 T salt

1 t basil

1 t onion powder

1/2 t pepper

1/2 t cayenne

1 t oregano




Mash all together

Form into Patties and fry

Black Bean Burger with Oats


3 16 oz Cans black beans

1 1/2 c uncooked regular oats

1 finely diced onions

2 jalapeno peppers (optional) seeded and finely diced

2 T oil

1/4 C nutritional yeast

1 t salt

Dredge mix:

1/4 c flour

1/4 c cornmeal




Mash beans and add remaining burger ingredients

Form into 8 patties

Dredge in flour/cornstarch

Fry in hot oil about 5 minutes each side

Serve on buns
