Vegan HOME MADE Lentil Burger Recipes
Lentil Burger
- Saute'
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 4 T vegan margarine (or oil)
- Mix in:
- Cooked lentils (About 3 cups)
- 1 t dry mustard
- 1 T vegan Worcestershire
- 1/2 pkg saltines
- 1 T lemon juice
- Add: Dry oats to thicken (about 1/2 cup)
- Scoop about a patties worth into:
- pre mixed:
- 1/2 C flour
- 1/2 C cornmeal
- 1/2 C garbonzo/chickpea flour. (just use flour and cornmeal if you don't have any garbonzo flour)
- Form into a patties, working flour into burger until it stays together well.
- Fry in hot oil until lightly browned on both sides.

- To Cook Lentils:
- (Sort through to remove any pebbles...)
- Boil/Simmer 1 c lentils in 2 1/2 cups lightly salted
- water for 45 minutes.
- Mash or blender smooth.
- (I like to toss in some onion, garlic
- and carrot while it cooks... can remove before mashing or just keep it in. Or just add a little broth powder to the water while cooking)

Tips and ideas:
You can actually use almost any bean that mashes well.
