Cornmeal Dinner Rolls
Mix and cook til thickened:
1/3 C cornmeal
1/2 C sugar
1/2 t salt
1/2 C shortning
2 C Plain unsweetened Soymilk (ONLY
soybeans and water on the label!)
Cool (to about 110 degrees) then add
1 pkg yeast dissolved proofed in 1/4 C
warm water (110 degrees)
1/4 C oil
Stir in then knead 10-15 minutes
About 9 C white flour +-
Place in greased bowl, cover, Let rise in
warm place til doubled about 1 hour
Punch down let rest 10 Minutes.
Roll out and cut, or shape into Golf Ball
size rounds.
Place in greased pans 11x 14 or cake
pans
Let rise 45 minutes
Bake 375 15-17 minutes
Brush with vegan margarine and sprinkle
with more cornmeal
For Crescent
Rolls:
After punching the dough, and resting for
10 minutes,
Roll 1/3 at a time... flat ~ 1/4 " and cut
into pie shapes.
Spread with softened margarine and roll
up.
Place on greased cookie sheet and rise 45
minutes.
Bake 350 15-20 minutes
Brush with Margarine

- Oatmeal
rolls
- Boil 1 min.
- 2 c
water
- 1 C regular
oats
- 3 T
butter
- Cool to 120
degrees
- Add: 2/3 C brown
sugar
- 1 ½ t
salt
- 5-6 c
flour
Proofed:
- 2
yeast
- 1/3 C
water
- 1 T sugar
Knead lightly, with a little more
flour.
- Cover/
Rise.until doubled
Punch Sit 10 minutes.
- Shape 12
balls
- Place 1 : apart
on greased pan
- rise until
doubled, about 45 minutes
- 350 25-30
min.
