Home made English Muffins NO KNEAD
GREAT, especially when you're out of bread and don't want to go to the store or turn on the oven!
- Mix:
- 3 c flour
- 2 t salt
- 2 T sugar
- 2 t yeast
- Add:
- 3 1/2 C warm water 110 degrees
- Stir until smooth
- Add more flour until it's a little hard to stir, but you can still drop by spoon. (about 2 cups)
- Cover let rise at room temp. 1 1/2 hours
- or stick it in the fridge overnight. Pull out an hour or 2 before cooking, and stir down.
- Heat flat non stick/cast iron or heavy duty griddle
- Lightly oil
- Stir batter then Ladle 1/2 C on hot griddle.
- Spread to 5 inches
- On med. Cook until bubbles across top, and all but 2 inches of dough is firm
- Flip over and cook another minute or so.
Put into toaster when ready to eat.
Tips:
Great with soups or jam. OR split and use like a pizza crust, or butter and sprinkle with garlic salt, poppy seeds, and nutritional yeast and broil for a easy appitizer. OR use however you like english muffins
