CHICKEN Tofu
- 2 # Extra Firm Tofu: Drained and pressed.
- Slice into cubes or steaks.
- Marinate several hours.
Marinade:
- 1 1/2 C water
- 1/4 C soy sauce
- 1/4 C nutritional yeast
- 1 T sage
- 1 t rosemary
- 1 t thyme
- 1 t onion powder
- 1/2 t marjoram
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 t pepper
- Remove from marinade
- (Optional. Before baking, roll in nutritional yeast and some seasoned salt made with the herbs listed in marinade, or poultry seasoning)
- Bake 350 degrees
- 45 minutes.
- Flip over and bake 15 minutes more.
- Serve right away, or great chilled.
Tips and Ideas
- For Best texture, Freeze tofu first. Then thaw, squeeze gently.
- Great in just about any recipe calling for chicken or tofu as the meat.
- Fabulous when coated and fried!
